Semi-competitive MMA: It's the battle of newcomers! Dark Phoenix makes her industry-wide premiere exclusively at Hit the Mat. In a pre-match interview, she talks about her Muay Thai, Krav Jiu-Jitsu and other MMA training, and challenges any man to a battle.

Enter Kato, a scrawny looking college student looking to make his mark in the sports entertainment business. Dark Phoenix can't help but laugh, and thinks this will be an easy fight.

The match begins, and it's clear from the get-go that both fighters know what they are doing. Both trash talk when they have the advantage, and neither are shy about striking while grappling. Dark Phoenix uses her knees, elbows and kicks along with open palm strikes and punches, while Kato prefers grappling on the ground and quick punches. The action is fast paced and both fighters put forth a lot of effort. Perhaps Dark Phoenix should have listened more to Kato's introduction, as she does not hear he actively competes in MMA fights!

Production notes:
The action is partially unscripted, and not many sound effects were added. Both fighters took numerous real hits in a largely realistic fantasy fight.
Both fighters do have real martial arts training.
